At Móbile, the study of complex concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics enables students to understand the world and make predictions by "doing science" in practice.

Throughout the course, our students are challenged in their creative potential to solve concrete problems by applying concepts and building contraptions.

The critical thinking and the awakening of a curious attitude towards the world are central axes in our proposal. The experiences we promote motivate the students to investigate the way how the different human groups were appropriating Spaces in different ways throughout history in addition to inserting themselves in the complexities of social processes, problematizing their contradictory aspects.

In everyday school life we promote situations that stimulate the development of fundamental skills for the 21st century citizen like self-management, open-mindedness, amiability, resilience and engaging with others. These individual skills are essential for the children and teenagers to relate to themselves and each other, make decisions, deal with frustrations and establish short-term and long-term objectives. We are sure that all of the experiences we promote in many learning contexts are important so our students can develop assertiveness, persistence, empathy, curiosity and self-confidence and successfully and happily accomplish their projects.

Graphic language is universal and used to develop abilities that relate to analysis, comparing, observation and finding of geometrical facts. Here at Móbile, our students are encouraged, beyond learning to build paper models, to use the software Geogebra – a Dynamic Geometry tool that facilitates the accomplishment of exercises that allow the observation of patterns and regularities.

Móbile School understands Physical Education at school as a language, an area of knowledge that broadens the discussion and experience of human movement, considering the object of teaching and learning the body culture. Through body practice experiences (sports, urban and nature adventure practices, fighting, gymnastics, dances and games), considered cultural-historic heritage, the students learn, through interacting with each other, about the transformations and resignification of each cultural manifestation. This expansion of repertoire potencializes the body language of our students, enabling the communication with different groups and social contexts, and also granting autonomy in a future choice of regular practice that makes sense to them, given the range of experiences throughout school years.

Starting from the 4th grade of Elementary School, our students begin studying the Spanish language and learning about the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. They come to recognize diversity as a core value and broaden their ability to communicate with the world.

In our curriculum, just as with the Portuguese language, English is both a subject of study and a language of instruction for learning. From an early age, our students are exposed to and encouraged to use English daily as a language of instruction for strategically selected knowledge areas—such as Natural Sciences, Computational Thinking and Technology, Physical Education, and Visual Arts.

Children and adolescents develop communication skills for both academic and interpersonal language, broadening and deepening their academic linguistic repertoire across different areas of knowledge.

Móbile’s Full-time curriculum promotes big innovation by making the integration of two subjects that are milestones for the development of a person for the 21st century – Natural Science and Technology and Computational Thinking. Scientific investigation, supported by computational thinking in the process of problem resolution related to real and relevant themes for global development, offer our students the opportunity to understand, analyze, compare and automate the knowledge to solve problems efficiently with the use of technology.

In this exclusive and innovative course, our students are not only encouraged to use the computer as a tool for work, communication, and research, but also learn to be responsible digital citizens. Furthermore, they develop computational thinking and learn to use computational devices as allies in problem-solving and creativity development.

The language is the main tool through which individuals socialize and express their thoughts and emotions. It Is the element that structures the thoughts and makes it possible to access all the knowledge built. It’s through the language that the individual appropriates and produces the culture, leaving their mark in the world.

Given the importance of art to the full development of an individual, the curriculum of the Bilingual program from Full-time Period at Móbile expands the access of our students to different artistic languages contemplating in their development the visual, musical, body and performing arts. This way, we empower, amplifying our students’ capacity of sensibly reading the world and expressing themselves creatively and aesthetically.

These artistic languages are worked through three areas:

Visual Arts

• The teaching of the visual language articulates the artistic experiences as a social practice. The creation process is as relevant as its eventual products and, in this trajectory, our students try and develop personal poetics. Understanding themselves as an agent, inserted and involved in a process, the students notice themselves as creative, critical and ethical.

Music and Movement Art (MMA)

• Music and Movement are two essential elements to life and have taken on, with time, different roles in the many cultures of our planet. In Brazilian culture in particular, the sound and movement are part of the expression of people in their everyday life and are necessary for their integral formation. These premises are structural in the elaboration of the class proposals and walk hand-in-hand in the manifestations of our popular culture. They are the legitimate expression of what is understood from Brazilian culture.

Performing Arts

• We understand performing arts as an artistic language privileged for the development of singularity, the sense of belonging, creativity, healthy confrontation with the other, of teamwork. Because of it, in the two final years of Primary School we promote movie and play creations in English that involve all students from the class.

Speaking, Reading and writing proficiently are essencial skills in life. It’s through oral and written texts that we are present in different social contexts and mark our participation in the world. Through Primary School, the reading and production of different discursive genres are the foundation for the linguistic development.

We also invest in the literary literacy of our students through a selection of a group of meaningful works adequate to each age range.

Math is an important area of knowledge that contributes in an effective way to the understanding of reality. At Móbile, this language has three big roles: formative, related to the thinking structure; functional, that uses learned resources to solve everyday problems; and the instrumental, used for the construction of areas of knowledge like Physics, Biology and Geography.

Aiming to develop wide and transversal abilities, always mediated by contemporary and everyday school life themes, here at Móbile the subject Educational Orientation is directly related to the shaping of ethical human beings, diverse and capable of reading the world in its multiple languages. Through the years, according to our students' stages of development, we explore topics like: digital citizenship; health and well-being; political and ethical literacy; academic learning management; social learning management.
